A Photographers Legal Rights and Copyright
Questions and conversation have come up many times with South Florida Camera Club members about a photographers rights, as well as copyright law and how to protect your art / photographs from being stolen or used without your permission and without payment. Since there’s so much interest in this topic and thanks to Michele Sanberg’s suggestion, I have invited two attorneys to come and talk with us at the next SFCC meeting. Attorney’s Michael Pancier and Frank Herrera will teach us through lecture many of the legal aspects of photography and follow it up with a question and answer session.
As well as being a South Florida Camera Club member and accomplished photographer, Attorney Michael Pancier has been actively involved in an extremely active trial and appellate practice since 1992, litigating numerous cases in the United States District Courts, the United States Courts of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court and the Florida County and Circuit Courts through the trial and appellate levels.
Attorney Frank Herrera is Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Internet Law Practice Group. He has extensive experience assisting clients in all areas of trademark and copyright law, whether prosecution, litigation, or transactional. He has handled numerous trademark, copyright, and patent cases before federal courts, state courts, appellate courts, and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.Core to his practice, Mr. Herrera assists clients with their selection, adoption and registration of their trademarks and in the registration of copyrights. Mr. Herrera also has extensive experience in handling domestic and international trademark portfolios.
