South Florida Fair Fieldtrip
On Saturday February 2nd South Florida Camera club will be taking a fieldtrip to the South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach. We will be meeting there at 3:00pm.
The annual South Florida Fair is Palm Beach County’s largest and oldest outdoor event. The South Florida Fair is also Florida’s top rated fair and runs for seventeen outrageously fun days. Experience the superlative amusement rides of Wade Shows, big act concerts, blue ribbon agricultural displays, family shows, community competitions and, of course, lip smacking fair food! First Meeting of February
This Thursday February 7th at 7pm our “VOK” Steve Wilkinson will be teaching a class on Photoshop. In addition to Steve continuing his lessons in Photoshop for photographers, you can bring in any photos you may have Photoshop issues with, and Steve can show you the way. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
Gallery Night at UNCOMMON Gallery
The second Friday of every month is “Gallery Night” at UNCOMMON Gallery in Fort Lauderdale. Meet other artists and enjoy their work in this unique atmosphere. Also enjoy sandwiches, cheese, wine and deserts throughout the evening. This is a great opportunity for South Florida Camera Club members to get together and socialize. Please bring your friends and help spread the word.
UNCOMMON Gallery is an alternative, casual style gallery promoting arts with a collection of images that explore all areas and styles of artistic expression. Michael D. Colanero is the proprietor of UNCOMMON Gallery and is also a nationally recognized artist, illustrator and designer.
If you’re an artist interested in promoting your work, increasing your visibility, and looking for more opportunities for potential sale, you can have Michael give you a portfolio review to start the process for gallery exhibit consideration. Ocean Drive Magazine’s 15th annual VolleyPalooza
On Saturday, February 9th from 10am till 6pm, Ocean Drive Magazine will be holding their 15th annual VolleyPalooza. Come watch and photograph volleyball tournaments featuring some of he hottest models and celebrities spiking the ball in the heart of South Beach. We will be meeting at 8th Street and Ocean Drive. If you’ll be attending this event you can contact Leonardo Glusman at 954-274-0123. Leonardo will be leading up this trip and will be the person to contact if you can’t find our group.

Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park
On Saturday February 16th at 7am, South Florida Camera Club will be going to Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park. This self-guiding trail winds through a sawgrass marsh, where you may see alligators, turtles, anhingas, herons, egrets, and many other birds, especially during the winter. This is one the most popular trails in the park because of its abundance of wildlife. If you’ll be attending this event you can contact Joe Paul at 954-536-0567. Joe will be leading up this trip and will be the person to contact for all information, including car pooling info.
February’s Photo Competition
On Thursday February 21st at 7pm we will be having our photographic competition for the month. If you’re using the printing services of Dale Laboratories you can print as large as 11X14 or 12X18 depending on the aspect ratio you shot the photo in or had to crop to. The smallest photo allowed is 8X10 and all photos must be centered mounted on a 16X20 black matte board. All competition rules can be found by clicking on the “Competition Rules” link in the top left hand corner of this page.

Special Meeting at One Model Place
On Friday, February 29th at 7pm we will be having a special meeting at One Model Place for South Florida Camera Club “Paid Members Only”. This meeting will be a chance to learn all about one model place. There will be a full demonstration of their studio, website, and what One Model Place has to offer. We have been asked to bring our cameras and gear so we can use their studio equipment to photograph models. Some members will receive free website memberships and everyone will receive coupons to use the studio at discounted rates. Food and drinks will also be provided.
