Peter Langone
Peter Langone has established himself as one of the world’s most successful commercial photographers of the last 3 decades. Over the years his photography has sparked international interest with over 250 awards and 100’s of television appearances, lectures, and TV spots.
Peter has created photography for thousands of advertising campaigns such as Coca-Cola, Anheuser Busch, Fox Sports, and has directed numerous music videos, and television commercials. Peter’s collection of travel work created while on assignment for cruise lines and resorts such as Renaissance, Silversea, Marriott, and Hilton remain his most fascinating treasures that are collected by many in a travel tabletop book titled “Langone on Location”.
Peter has photographed over 100 iconic portraits of presidents, singers, athletes, actors, and other celebrities. Throughout his career he has spent much of his time working on his personal collection creating images of form that have graced the pages of magazines and galleries. He has compiled these images in a book titled “ God as A Woman” and travels nationwide with his exhibition to share his photographic story that has been interpreted by profound poets, such as the legendary Barbara Ryan.
In 1995, Peter moved his Florida Studio to the heart of Downtown Ft. Lauderdale, ten minutes from the beach, where he created an Italian Villa surrounded by windows that looks out onto lavish gardens and sunny weather for his clients to enjoy. Clients and celebrities describe it as a magical slice of paradise.
Peter’s sense of lighting and love for photography lives with him every day and when one meets Peter most would describe him as a benevolent, highly focused, and creative masterpiece. His charming and eccentric personality can be likened to that of a comedic performer with a confidence that radiates through his ability to connect with everyone who steps on his set, a place where he most comfortably calls home.
Lew Lautin’s Gala Opening
Alliance Francaise of Miami is pleased to invite you to the Gala Opening of “The Heart and Soul of Paris” Photography by Lew Lautin. The Gala Opening will be September 5th 2008 from 7pm till 9pm.
Lew’s passion for capturing strong emotion and drama through color and composition burns brighter than ever. His family, friends and fellow artists describe Lew as vivacious, warm, generous and above all, creative. A love of traveling enabled him to spend almost 6 weeks in Paris this year. Combining his passion for both travel and photography has led to the exhibition of his Paris work. Lew’s prints capture the art, soul and people of Paris in photographs of city life, museums, and stunning panoramics. Lew will be showing this series of prints on archival papers and canvas ranging in size from 8X10 to 40X60.
South Florida Camera Club is proud to have Lew Lautin as a member, and I hope to see everyone there opening night in suport of Lew and his artistic expression.

TYE Studios “Permit to Shoot” shoot-a-thon
TYE Studios “Permit to Shoot” is a three hour shoot-a-thon for photographers of every level no experience necessary. TYE Studios staff will set up multiple shooting areas and provide four to five models for you to photograph. TYE Studios staff will be on hand to assist. This event is perfect for building your portfolio, and networking with other photographers and models.
“Permit to Shoot” takes place the second Tuesday of every month from 7:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m., and is only $99 to attend. This is not a photography class. It is simply a chance for you to exercise your camera, practice your craft, and have fun. This event is limited to 15 photographers, so RSVP at minimum 24 hours to reserve your spot. Gallery Night at UNCOMMON Gallery
The second Friday of every month is “Gallery Night” at UNCOMMON Gallery in Fort Lauderdale. Meet other artists and enjoy their work in this unique atmosphere. Also enjoy sandwiches, cheese, wine and deserts throughout the evening. This is a great opportunity for South Florida Camera Club members to get together and socialize. Please bring your friends and help spread the word.
UNCOMMON Gallery is an alternative, casual style gallery promoting arts with a collection of images that explore all areas and styles of artistic expression. Michael D. Colanero is the proprietor of UNCOMMON Gallery and is also a nationally recognized artist, illustrator and designer.
If you’re an artist interested in promoting your work, increasing your visibility, and looking for more opportunities for potential sale, you can have Michael give you a portfolio review to start the process for gallery exhibit consideration. September’s Competition
On Thursday September 18th at 7pm we’ll be having our photographic competition for the month. You can find all the rules for the competition by clicking on the “Competition Rules” link in the top left had corner of our website.
The selected winning photograph for each monthly competition will be framed by Frame Gallery and will then be displayed in UNCOMMON Gallery for a month. The photographer whose photo wins the year end Grand Prize competition will have a choice of selecting either a: Nikon D300! Or a Canon 40D!
Theme: Wild Animals
GRRRrrrrrrrrrr… not for the tame. This month brings out the adventurer in all of us. From untamed poodles, to hungry hippos, this theme is about shooting in the wild, and capturing the best of the animal kingdom.
