Competition winners for April 2008.
April’s photographic competition had a very large turnout and the most photo entries since we started our photography club sixteen months ago. The theme was open and all the photographs competing were exceptional.
A big congratulation goes out to Kara Starzyk for taking first place in this very stiff competition. Kara’s photograph “Shaking Hands” of Buddhist monks gathering at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, was the runaway winner. Coming in second was Robert Carney with his photograph “On Silent Wings” of an Owl in flight. Joe McBroom took third place with his HDR photograph “Pompano Pier” of the Pompano Pier.
Kara is now eligible to win a brand new Nikon D300 or Canon 40D at the end of the year competition for “Best Photograph of the Year”. Her photograph is being framed by Frame Gallery in Fort Lauderdale, and will hang in UNCOMMON Gallery throughout the month of May. Make sure to attend the Gallery Night Party on May 9th to see Kara’s print is all it’s glory.
