SFCC News for 14-APRIL-2008
The March photo competition went really well. We had a total of twelve entries, and in my opinion the competition was pretty stiff. Coming in first place with his first SFCC win, was Leonardo Glusman and his photograph entitled “Pink Twirls” . Coming in second place was Adilia Ortega with her beautiful photograph entitled “Water Drops” . Third place had a two way tie between Joe McBroom with his photograph entitled “Passion Flower Sting” and Elaine Fitzgerald with her photograph entitled “Big Orange” .
Congratulations to all the winners, especially Leonardo Glusman. His photograph is now being framed by Frame Gallery in Fort Lauderdale and will hang in UNCOMMON Gallery throughout the month of April. Make sure to attend the Gallery Night party to see his print in all its glory!
At our last meeting South Florida Camera Club member Elaine Fitzgerald asked the club if they would be interested in doing a slide show of their travels to be digitally displayed on the screen during our second meeting of the month. Because of the overwhelming interest in doing these travel logs, we’ll now be doing an under 5 minute slide show each month after the photographic competition. If you’re interested in showing off your travels, please create an under 5 minute slide show or contact Elaine to help you create it. One to two presentations will be accepted per month depending on our time limitations. Elaine can be contacted by email: elaine {at} ourprteam(.)com or you can call her at: 954-471-6704. Elaine Fitzgerald will be heading up this Travel Log Committee and will be choosing which presentations will be shown each month.

The conversation has come up several times about our legal rights as photographers. Lew Lautin recently sent me an email with information about Bert P. Krages II (Attorney at Law) who’s written a great little downloadable PDF that you can print out and carry with you about your legal rights.
